    Description

    T
his 1/10 gram [100 milligrams] "Star of Bethlehem" Aurum Gold Note is one of a "Baby Bear" holiday series produced by Valaurum, Inc., of Portland, Oregon. This series includes designs focusing on Baby Bear engaging in a variety of Christmas activities, such as looking at the Star of Bethlehem, handing Papa Santa Bear a Wish List and another one of Baby Bear playing with a dreidel, a recognition that the Holiday Season can include all faiths. Valaurum, Inc., uses a process derived from making computer chips to spray atomized gold as a vapor over a substrate of polyester in a vacuum, producing Gold Notes with precisely weighed amounts of gold verified by independent assayers. In a common assay procedure, the polyester substrate can be burned off, leaving behind nothing but a pebble of pure gold. The "Star of Bethlehem" Aurum Gold Note is an early version of their products but is still full of elaborate coloring perfected in later holiday Aurum Notes involving Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus, a Christmas Fireplace, a Christmas Tree, a Polar Bear and a Snowman. The simplicity of this "Star of Bethlehem" Note is part of its charm, with a lonely Baby Bear staring at the sky as a bright star shines, a reference to the Hope that the iconic star represents to Christians everywhere. The Baby Bear wears a green coat and red and white hat as a multitude of stars scatters across the sky, eclipsed by that one large golden Star of Bethlehem. The Aurum Gold Note has assay details of weight and purity printed at the bottom, along with a unique ID serial number. [NOTE: The first picture of the "Star of Bethlehem" Aurum Gold Note shown above is a Stock Photo, but I Guarantee the Note a buyer receives matches the one photographed.] The Note is secured in a bill sleeve and attached to the inside of a Golden Life Card with its "mini-bio" of the Note [see photo]. Also included is a colorfully designed envelope suitable for storing the "Star of Bethlehem" Aurum Gold Note or gifting it to a loved one.
