his 1/2 gram [7.5 grains] 24 karat pure [999.9 fine] "ELEMENTAL" gold bar was minted in 2017 by Benchmark Strategic Metals of Rochester, New York. This bar is referred to as "ELEMENTAL" because of its assay data minted into the ingot: "79" referring to gold's Atomic Number; "Au" being the Latin name for gold; 1/2 gram constituting the bar's weight and ".999 FINE GOLD" its purity. These assay details are also printed on the TEP Card along with a security ID Number in a hologram circle on the Reverse of the TEP. Fractional gold bars like this 1/2 gram ingot from Benchmark Mint are becoming more popular because weights less than an ounce are more affordable, despite the higher "premiums" [cost over melt value].  Breaking down larger units into assayed smaller ones is expensive.
