In addition, the California Gold Rush of 1848 - 1855 supposedly produced several men of Irish birth who "got lucky" and discovered gold. The minter of this ingot, Benchmark Strategic Metals, specializes in producing fractional pure gold bars in sizes from their smallest weight, this 1/60 gram [1/4 grain] bar, to two gram ingots.
