his 1 gram "2020 Canadian Maple Leaf" 24 karat pure [.999 fine] Aurum Gold Note features the iconic 11-pointed design of a Canadian maple leaf, patterned after Canada's National Flag. While the maple leaf has been Canada's emblem since the 18th Century, Canada had no official national flag until February 15, 1965, when the new official Canadian National Flag made its first appearance. The day is now celebrated as National Flag Day of Canada. This Note's background design is of the Toronto skyline. The Note was the second one-gram product produced by the novel technological breakthrough called the "Aurum," the first 1 gram Note being the "American Bison." The Note's manufacturer, Valaurum, Inc., of Portland, Oregon, developed a proprietary process by which an atomized spray of pure gold is layered in a vacuum atop a polyester substrate, creating a durable Note with full-color design elements and several anti-counterfeiting measures. The incredible detail attained in minting the "2020 Canadian Maple Leaf" Aurum Note has to be seen to be fully appreciated. A variety of "24k gold" stampings appear on the Note, which has a unique serial ID number under a Seal at lower right.  While the Note reads "ONE GRAM" at top left, it also bears the phrase, "UN GRAMME" at bottom right. The gold background highlighted by an autumn orange hue gives the Note a striking appearance. The Note is secured in a bill sleeve and is attached to the inside of a Golden Life Card with its "mini-bio" of what the Note represents.
