Description
This one gram "Benjamin Franklin" 24 karat pure [0.999 fine] Gold Note is a replica of the 0 Franklin Federal Reserve Note that was launched in 1914 and is the largest U. S. denomination paper currency, replacing the 0, ,000, ,000 and ,000 Notes retired in 1969. Unlike Aurum Notes, this Franklin Gold Note has designs on both the Obverse (with Franklin's portrait) and on the Reverse, an intricate drawing of Independence Hall with Assay Details on the bottom right. The vertical security strip found on real 0 Federal Reserve Notes is present along with a scattering of the number "100" to represent the Note's face value, in addition to the usual engraved denominations on all four corners. The Franklin Gold Note is encased in a polyester substrate and is secured in an archival quality currency sleeve attached to the inside of a Golden Life Card with its "mini-bio" briefly explaining the Note and the origin of gold. A common assay process of burning off the substrate [Heaven forbid!] would leave behind nothing but a gram of pure gold. With a gram of bullion gold in a TEP assay card fetching about or so, and others on eBay selling the item for more, this one gram Franklin Gold Note as a work of numismatic art and intrinsic gold value is quite a bargain at the price. [NOTE: The first three pictures of the Franklin Gold Note are Stock Photos, but I Guarantee the Note a buyer receives matches the quality of the one photographed.]
