Description
This 10 grain [1/3 gram] 24 karat pure [999.9 fine] "Kukulkan" gold bar was minted in 2012 by the Canadian Gold Alliance. It is a special edition assayed bar featuring a design of the Kukulkan Pyramid, one of the better known "pyramid bases" of the Inca and Mayan cultures. The Inca Empire in South America existed about the same time as the Mayans to the north, and both fell victim to Spanish Conquistadors starting around 1533. The Spanish general Francisco Pizzaro took the Inca Emperor Atahualpa prisoner, extorted million in gold and silver from him, then executed him. [His contemporary Montezuma, the Aztec ruler, died in 1520 for similar reasons when Hernando Cortez imprisoned him and looted and extorted millions in gold and silver.] The Inca Empire at its height covered 3,000 miles of the western coast of South America and included parts of the present day countries of Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile. Located near Cancun, Mexico, the Kukulkan Pyramid [known by the Spaniards as
El Castillo
] is larger then others of noted fame, such as Machu Picchu or the Pyramid of the Moon. It was built likely between 800 - 900 AD and is 53.3 meters on all four sides. The gold bar in the Kukulkan TEP Card [Tamper Evident Packaging] is secured in the card which is protected by a cellophane sleeve. The gold bar is attached to a Golden Life Card [See photo] and has a mini-bio label on the inside flap detailing important aspects of the bar. A colorfully designed envelope [See photo] is also provided that is suitable for storing the gold piece or gifting it to a loved one. [NOTE: The pictures above are Stock Photos of the item. But I personally Guarantee that the bar you receive will match the quality of the one photographed.]
