Complete Katchy Kard Collection93 PNCs, 1975 through 1979, Perfect Condition in Vinyl Albums
The Birt Slater Co. proprietor was Birt Slater of Anaheim, California. He prepared Philatelic- Numismatic Combinations (PNCs) from the August 1975 through the end of 1979. They were known as Katchy Kards (a registered trademark) and each Katchy Kard was for a different occasion Each Kard had a stamp and cachet related to that occasion. A small circular window in each Kard contained a small gold ingot that weighed only about 0.003 ounce. The ingots were stamped "GOLD GULCH" and had "50" in an oval. On the back of each Kard was a description of the occasion. The quantity made for each issue apparently was not disclosed.
There were 92 regular Katchy Kard issues, and a special issue that contained a BU (brilliant uncirculated) cent in the window instead of the gold ingot. Of note is the Iwo Jima issue (Veteran's Day, November 11, 1976), with the Kard being signed by Carl J. Jackel who carried the U.S. flag up the mountain at Iwo Jima. Along with the Kards, the monthly "Katchy Kard Mini News" brochures are included, but some issues are missing. Also included with the card collection is a number of communication items that the owner had with Birt Slater.
All of the Kards are in perfect condition. All of them are mounted in windows in vinyl albums that were made for Katchy Kards. Please see photos.
(Note: this collection contains the Katchy Kard PNCs only. The Katchy Kard Christmas ornaments are not included.)
