It features a medicine shield design on the front. The bead is glass, not plastic. The canteen is in very good condition without any damage.

    VINTAGE NATIVE AMERICAN RAWHIDE TOBACCO CANTEEN ~ w/ MEDICINE SHIELD DESIGN
    This is a wonderful and unusual find.  This Native American rawhide tobacco canteen is at least 37 years old, I know because I purchased this item 37 years ago from and antique mall and it has been in my personal collection this entire time.  It is in very good used condition.  It is rawhide with deer sinew and hide.  It features a medicine shield design on the front.  I do not know the tribal affiliation.  It had deer hide or fur around the collar of the flask at one point but it has all worn away; it was worn like that when I purchased it, you can see the rub in the photos.  The bead is glass, not plastic.  The canteen is in very good, vintage condition.  It has been kept in a smoke free environment (Ironic, I know).
