BACKGROUND
I’m not a collector of magazines. These back issues of Time were my grandfather’s, which he kept in a dry, clean basement for decades. He kept everything... magazines, old 45’s, baseball cards. He passed several years ago and we figure it’s time to let these items go to someone else who can enjoy them. They are like a time machine to a different culture, with interesting views on race, gender roles, patriotism, entertainment, and so on.
Plus, of course, there were very significant historical events being covered in each issue, giving you a sense of what it was like to be alive in those times. And I get a kick out of all the ads for cigarettes, boxy TVs, and old cars.
CONDITION
In my amateur opinion, most of these are in VG condition. The pages are complete and readable, with off-white to cream color. Most issues still have a good cover gloss. They do have a musty smell, but no visible mold or water damage. Most issues have an address label.
See photos for overall condition, including creases, small tears, and staple pops where applicable. If there’s no photo of additional defects, it means I didn’t find any.
If you see some masking tape in the photo, it is NOT on the magazine - it’s on the storage bag. None of the mags are taped anywhere. All the mags have been stored in acid-free bags with boards for the past 10 years. If you have any questions about an item, please don’t hesitate to ask.
